I spent many months on Sumatra. I spent two months getting to know Farida and her family during the first year there. During the second year, I spent three months for the marriage ceremonies and honeymoon (this also included a month in Singapore and Malaysia). During the third year, I spent three months between North Sumatra and Jakarta since we had to get Faridas' visa to follow me to USA. During the fourth year, I divided my time between Sumatra, Java, and Bali because we were there more for the fun of traveling rather than for duty (marriage, paperwork, making acquaintences). This photo was taken on the road between Pakkat Sumatra and Barus Sumatra which is on the Indian Ocean side of North Sumatra.
