Èmile Goudeau Square is named after the novel and poetry writer who founded the literary club "Les Hydropathes." The Wallace fountain as well as several Horse Chestnut trees are located here with the Bateau Lavoir in the background. Pablo Picasso lived here and he painted his Garçon a la Pipe and his les Demoiselles d'Avignon while he lived here. Amedeo Modigliani and Juan Gris also lived here. So many artists met here that i should not even attempt to list them all. 😀 Well, here are a few:
Gertrude Stein, Henri Matisse, Guillaume Apollinaire, and Georges Braque are just a few.
